COLD OPEN | Elmo and Louie list different games.
SCENE 1 | Rudy is ecstatic to go to the carnival today, but there's only one problem: it's raining, and the carnival is closed. To cheer everyone up, Elmo has the idea of creating their own carnival at home. The three then come up with different carnival games they like. Rudy brings up how much he likes the rollercoasters, which is, of course, not re-created as easily as he might hope, so they start by working on a memory game...
SCENE 1 cont'd | Elmo starts by cutting up a piece of paper into six pieces, drawing numbers on the front of each piece and pictures on the back. Rudy and Abby sing about making a carnival at home, then compete in a matching game. Abby wins, and Rudy gets excited to ride a rollercoaster. Abby and Elmo, not wanting to burst Rudy's bubble, start the tossing game instead...
SCENE 1 cont'd | Everyone lays cardboard boxes down as they sing another chorus. They get ready for their tossing game but run into the problem of not having anything to toss, as they're not allowed to throw a ball in the house. The three decide on socks as a safer alternative, and each throws one at their stack of boxes. Elmo knocks down three, Abby knocks down two, and Rudy knocks five of them down, making him the winner.
SCENE 1 cont'd | Now, or at least as Rudy thinks, it's time for the rollercoaster, and he gets excited. Abby and Elmo attempt to explain to him that they're not sure how to re-create a rollercoaster at home. Rudy gets disappointed and hides in a box, which leads Elmo to notice that Rudy inside a box kind of looks like a rollercoaster, so they all get in boxes and pretend to ride.
