SCENE 1 | Elmo greets Gabrielle and Ji-Young, and the three welcome the viewer to the Outdoor Library, run by Frankie, the librarian. When Ji-Young notes the many choices they have, Frankie points out that their options extend to several kinds of books as well, including comic, picture, chapter, and even cook books. Ji-Young chooses to search for a comic book, while Elmo opts for a picture book and Gabrielle a chapter book. At Gabrielle's suggestion, each decides to find a book in their chosen format about someone similar to themselves. They plan to share their finds with each other in a "Read-and-Share." |

SCENE 1 cont'd | Elmo and Gabrielle locate their respective books, but Ji-Young -- having been unable to obtain just one book about someone like her -- returns with a heavy stack of different books. Nina stops by and mentions that she has experienced a similar problem. Inspired by their respective dilemmas, Ji-Young suggests creating her own comic book with a character embodying all of her interests and traits. Elmo and Gabrielle agree to help, and Gabrielle says she knows who could offer even more assistance. |

He enthusiastically responds to Ji-Young's request for help in producing The Adventures of Ji-Young: The Electric Soccer Rocker. The quartet sets out to illustrate Ji-Young's comic creation and soon has a finished product to show. |

Ji-Young shows off her comic, weaving a tale of a soccer player and avid guitarist who has to choose between playing in an important soccer match or performing at her band's rock concert. In the end, she chooses not to choose and participates in both. Frankie offers to display the comic in the library for others to read as well. |

Elmo and Ava suggest books about grandparents, nature, cooking, and painting, before realizing that Big Bird is describing "Little Red Riding Hood." Red herself appears and assembles a huge stack to take to her grandmother's house. |
