COLD OPEN | Elmo has a horse (Peter Linz) guess today's theme of horses. |

SCENE 1 | Elmo, Julia, and Samuel are on a horse farm, and Julia is just finishing up her horseback riding lesson, meaning Elmo's turn is next. Sam says he loves riding ponies, and Elmo is confused, thinking the animal is a horse. Sam explains that a pony is a small horse, even though the pony seems pretty large to Elmo. Elmo is then introduced to Lola, the riding instructor, who takes Julia's pony, Tony, back to his stable. |

SCENE 1 cont'd | Elmo gets ready to ride Tony, and Julia asks Elmo to say hi to Tony. Sam backs her up, saying you wouldn't go up to someone you've never met and give them a hug, and that you need to be comfortable with the horse before you ride it. Julia teaches Elmo how to say hello, by showing that he needs to look to Tony's side because that's where his eyes are, and that he needs to touch Tony's nose with his hands. Tony makes it clear that he likes Julia, and Sam says that Julia's great with ponies, and being with ponies helps Julia practice talking and touching gently. |

SCENE 1 cont'd | Elmo thinks it's time to ride, but Julia says it's first time for food. Julia hands Elmo a carrot, and Elmo starts to eat it thinking it's for him, but Julia tells him it's the pony's food. Sam says carrots are Tony's favorite, and Elmo asks how the two know so much about Tony. Sam explains that they help take care of him every time they're at the horse farm. Julia feeds Tony a carrot, and Elmo follows with another carrot. Julia then gets out a brush, and demonstrates to Elmo how to brush Tony. Sam says that brushing is good practice for doing other things with your hands, and brushing Tony makes him feel good. |

SCENE 1 cont'd | It's finally time for Elmo to ride Tony, and Elmo stalls, unsure if he can do it. Sam and Julia reassure Elmo, saying they were both nervous at first too. Sam then has the idea of belly breathing to calm Elmo down and get ready to ride Tony. Elmo tries it, and feels a lot better, and he rides around the farm on Tony. |

- As with previous episodes that prominently feature Julia, this episode aired on PBS concurrently with HBO Max, departing from the established deal between HBO and Sesame Workshop that allows PBS to broadcast new episodes after a nine month window.
