SCENE 1 | Today is Grandparents' Day, and Elmo and Rosita share with each other their Grandparents' Day traditions. Elmo shares that he and his grandparents read stories together, and Rosita shares that she and her abuela have a special breakfast together. Elmo then meets with Gabrielle and her Grandma Nell. For Grandparents' Day, the two are having a cookout, and Nell is making her family's world-famous Grandpa ZZ's triple cheesy macareenie. It's an important dish in Nell's family, who learned it from her Grandpa ZZ when she was little. It's called triple cheesy because it uses three different cheeses, and it uses three cheeses because that's the way Nell's grandpa made it. Then, Nell invites Elmo over to see how the dish is made...
SCENE 1 cont'd | Before getting started, Nell tells Elmo the story of how the dish started. One time, Nell's Grandpa ZZ didn't have enough cheese for the quantity of macaroni he made, until he realized he had two other kinds of cheese. He decided to combine the three cheeses with some butter, milk, and breadcrumbs. It just so happened that Nell was helping him out that day in the kitchen, who got to mix everything together and have a little taste before it was done.
SCENE 1 cont'd | Tamir arrives, and the three kids place the three cheeses into the bowl of pasta. They then add the milk and butter, mix it together, top with breadcrumbs, and bake.
