SCENE 1 | Elmo meets Nina's friend Fred, a flamingo who flew all the way from Cuba for a family reunion. Fred teaches Elmo the word "flaminglet" when discussing his age when he met Nina in Cuba. Rudy arrives to say hi, and gets worried he hurt Fred's feelings because of the perceived frown on the bird's face. Fred teaches Rudy that he is in fact not frowning, and that the upside-down-smile shape of his bill helps him eat. He sings a song about his scoop of a bill. |

SCENE 1 cont'd | Elmo and Rudy, now donning flamingo hats, are excited to find out that flamingos' nests are made of mud. Nina shows them a video of a flamingo nest, and the two express their envy in song. |

SCENE 1 cont'd | Elmo then realizes that a baby flamingo in the video they saw is white, not pink, and Fred explains that flamingos change color as they age. Elmo wonders why, and Bert appears to explain the phenomenon in song. He sings about how the shrimp and algae flamingos eat affects their color. The song continues as Elmo imagines what it would be like if he were a flamingo. |

SCENE 1 cont'd | Everyone thanks Bert for his teachings, but Nina wonders how he knows so much about flamingos. Bert explains that it's because flamingos and pigeons are distant cousins. It is then revealed that Fred's family reunion is pigeon-packed, and the family sings to close the show. |

Cartoon | Sesame Street Nature Explorers Grandma Nell feeds walnuts to some crows. Elmo, Gabrielle, and Tango watch as one of the crows struggles to open the nut then picks it up and flies away. The three follow the crow around, and observe as the bird drops the nut onto the ground to break it open. The nut gets stuck in a pavement crack, so the crow uses a stick to get it out. The crow then leaves some aluminum foil in the feeder to say thank you. |
