She sings a song about her predicament, joined by some monster backup singers, which gives her the idea to write a musical for her project. SCENE 1 cont'd | The music changes, and the family sings about their New Year's traditions. Frank sings about a Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) tradition in which they eat apples and honey to bring sweetness for the coming year. Dave sings about the Spanish tradition of eating twelve grapes to bring good luck for the new year. The grapes from earlier show up again at this part but once again have to leave in disappointment. Mia then starts singing about bedtime, when her dads sing her lullabies (one in Spanish, one in Hebrew). Mia concludes with one final song, and after, Frank invites everyone to Shabbat dinner. One of the fledglings attempts to fly but falls on the ground, which leads Super Grover to come to its rescue. Nell stops any intervention, as its family is able to help it. The fledgling's father leaves it temporarily, inviting Grover to teach it to fly. Grover's lesson goes haywire, and he flies away uncontrollably. The fledgling finds its father, who holds food on top of things to encourage the fledgling to fly for it. The fledgling successfully flies atop a bush and is rewarded with a snack. |
