COLD OPEN | Grover tries introducing today's theme of kindness, while Elmo acts kind toward him, making him lose his train of thought. (First: Episode 4702)
SCENE 1 | By Hooper's Store, Tamir discusses his favorite comic books with Rosita and Elmo. All the books were drawn by Bobby Manalo (Eugene Cordero), Tamir's favorite artist who is coming to Sesame Street to meet fans and sign books. Rosita leaves to tell her comic-book-loving abuela, Elmo leaves to tell his daddy.
SCENE 1 cont'd | TJ arrives and discusses his excitement to meet Manalo with Tamir and Chris. TJ mentions that Manalo is Filipino, just like him. The three then decide to make a gift for Manalo to make him feel more welcome. TJ says he wishes he could draw comic books so he could make Manalo one, but Tamir shares that he can draw comic books and offers to work together on one...
SCENE 1 cont'd | TJ, having never rescued anyone and not having laser eyes, doesn't know what to write his book about, but Tamir suggests writing it about things he likes to do on Sesame Street. TJ shares that he likes to work in the community garden with his lola ("grandma" in Tagalog). Cookie Monster joins their conversation and shares that he knows the Tagalog word for "cookie" ("biskwit") and... that's it ("In fact, me know how to say 'cookie' in twenty-seven different languages!"). When Cookie leaves, Tamir and TJ finish their comic book, and they share it with Chris...
SCENE 1 cont'd | It starts with TJ and his lola growing vegetables and samapguita (a special flower in the Philippines, a type of jasmine) in the community garden. When the two are about to finish gardening, his lola realizes that one of her gloves is missing. TJ uses his "really, really good seeing" powers to find the glove. The glove has vanished, but TJ activates his "really, really good remembering" superpower and remembers when he and his lola were having merienda (a Tagalog word for "snack") a few minutes prior. He remembers both gloves being on the table, which is where the two find the other glove.
SCENE 1 cont'd | The three all love it. TJ thanks Tamir for his help, then Tamir requests help from TJ. Per request, TJ teaches Tamir the Tagalog words "Kumusta" (a really kind way to say hi) and "salamat" ("thank you"). Tamir practices saying these words so he can say them to Manalo.
SCENE 1 cont'd | At the meet-and-greet, Tamir is nervous, worrying he'll make a mistake and considers abandoning his plan to speak Tagalog. Chris and Elmo comfort him, and Chris tells Tamir that the important thing is that he tried his best to speak another language. Tamir then walks up to Manalo, and the two exchange Kumustas. Tamir explains that he wanted to speak Tagalog to make Manalo feel welcome, and Manalo is impressed and thanks Tamir. TJ then arrives to show Manalo their comic book. Manalo then offers to sign some comic books, and the two ask him to sign quite a few ("We had such a hard time choosing").

They notice that the soil in the garden is somewhat dry, so they pour some water in, being sure not to pour too much. Realizing how hot it is, Elmo props up a leaf to give the worm some shade. To find more ways to be kind, the two ask Oscar, who keeps yelling at them to scram. The two continue asking him for help, but Oscar reveals he was helping them; once the worm has everything it needs, leave it alone.
