Elmo and Gabrielle ask Grandma Nell for a book about different kinds of leaves, but she has no such book. This gives Gabrielle the idea to make their own book about leaves, having already drawn one kind of leaf. She, Elmo and Tango discover a pointy and orange leaf, a yellow and round leaf, and a bright red leaf with many pointy segments. They bring all three leaves to Nell who teaches them that the orange one is from a sugar maple tree, the yellow one a poplar tree, and the red one a scarlet oak tree. Gabrielle and Elmo assemble their book by gluing the leaves into pages and complete it with a hand-drawn cover.
