SCENE 1 | Elmo and Abby are at The Count's castle, as they are helping The Count get the batty bats ready for naptime. The Count tells them about how every day at naptime, the batty bats refuse to go to sleep as they want to play their favorite game: hide and seek in the castle. Elmo and Abby love hide and seek, and want to play. The Count reluctantly agrees, as it would tire them out. But they must hurry as it's almost naptime, and if they don't take their nap, they will get cranky. Elmo asks how many bats are playing, and The Count counts them all: there are 10 batty bats altogether. The game begins as Elmo, Abby, and The Count all close their eyes to count to 10. |

Elmo finds it's one of the batty bats, as there were two hiding behind each of the statues. The Count brings them to their napping perch. |

SCENE 1 cont'd | They search in another room as Elmo finds the bats are really good at hiding. Abby decides if they got to find the batty bats, they got to think like batty bats. Abby pulls out Wanda as she uses her magic to give her and Elmo batty wings and a batty squeak. They are both given bat costumes. The Count thinks this is not a "bat" idea. Both Elmo and Abby flap their bat wings as Elmo starts getting tired. Abby suggests laying down and taking a nap, but Elmo realizes that bats don't lie down. They look back at when the bats are napping on their perch, so they could be hiding somewhere upside down. The Count points out the chandelier, as there are three batty bats hanging there. |

SCENE 1 cont'd | Elmo and Abby are looking in another room, as Elmo recalls the bats like to hide in paintings. He looks around, and finds they may be in a picture of The Count in The Countmobile. But they're not. Abby points out the bats like hanging on things. The Count begins to feel discouraged, and may not find all 10 in time for their nap. But Elmo and Abby are not giving up. Abby points out there may be a few hanging on the tapestry on the wall. The Count notices the difference between the two tapestries. Elmo points out the bats are orange in one tapestry, and in the other, the bats are black. Same color as the batty bats, as they found the last three. |
