Epitaph and Fortune Cookie are a pair of race horses who appear in Sesame Street Episode 4036. Epitaph (a male horse in blue and white) and Fortune Cookie (female, wearing red and orange) answer Elmo's wanted sign seeking a horse to replace a missing chess piece.
Their application for the job is turned down, at which point their race begins. Epitaph briefly leads by a half, but Fortune Cookie wins by a nose. The situation is reversed when the pair play chess at the end, however. Epitaph uses the Sicilian gambit, with Fortune Cookie complimenting his strategy by calling him "a regular Kasparov."
