Erich Ludwig (1939-2022) was a German voice actor who dubbed Rizzo the Rat in Die Muppets erobern Manhattan (The Muppets Take Manhattan) as well as human guest stars on Die Muppet Show (The Muppet Show) and the German dub of The Muppets.
Ludwig began acting on German radio in the 1960s and moved into dubbing in the seventies, lending his voice to William Duell in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Alun Armstrong in Measure for Measure, and a minor character on I, Claudius. He later dubbed Sylvester McCoy in The Hobbit movies, Ian McKellen in All Is True, Charles Dance in Ironclad, Udo Kier in Blade, and Matt Frewer in A Home at the End of the World, as well as Kurtwood Smith on That '70s Show and Anton Lesser and other guest stars on Poirot. Cartoon roles include Reflux in Incredibles 2, the Hyper-Chicken on Futurama, and various bits on Family Guy.
On-camera, Ludwig has appeared on Tatort, Derrick, and the 1984 TV movie Titanic.
