Ernie's Little Lie is a 1983 Sesame Street storybook featuring Ernie.
Plot[]
Ernie decides to paint a picture for an art contest Mr. Hooper is judging. After he finishes his rubber duckie picture, Ernie's cousin Fred mails him a realistic tiger painting. Ernie briefly considers entering that picture instead of his own, but then decides not to, but then Bert decides to enter Ernie's painting and mistakenly enters the picture that was mailed to Ernie. The picture is highly praised and wins first prize at the contest. Ernie wants to clear up the confusion, but everybody likes the painting that he didn't do. Eventually, Ernie couldn't stand it anymore and explains what had happened, and Mr. Hooper agrees that the prize (a deluxe set of paints) should be mailed to Ernie's cousin. Bert then apologizes to Ernie for his mistake afterwards and praises him for telling the truth and likes his painting of Rubber Duckie.
