Bert comes home to a locked door. Ernie answers but asks Bert to wait outside for a little bit.
Bert wonders why Ernie wants to keep him out. At first, Bert worries his friend might be in trouble, or feeling sad, but then he thinks Ernie might be hiding something from him, which makes him mad. He demands to be let in -- and finds that Ernie has thrown him a surprise party, which makes him happy.
