Muppets on Location: Days of Swine and Roses

"Everything's Coming Up Roses," the first act finale from Jule Styne and Stephen Sondheim's musical Gypsy, is about a domineering stage mother's deranged decision to push her older daughter into the spotlight after she discovers that her youngest daughter has run out on the family act.

It was originally performed on Broadway by The Muppet Show guest star Ethel Merman. Another Muppet Show guest star, Bernadette Peters, performed it in the 2003 Broadway revival.

The Muppet Show[]

  • performed by Pearl Bailey on episode 305 as the last song in the Camelot medley. It also served as the underscore during the jousting match immediately preceding the song.
