Eyvind Skeie in 2008
Eyvind Skeie (b. 1947) is a Norwegian writer and lecturer. Trained in theology, he has also served as a chaplain in the Church of Norway. He is well known for his many hymns and songs, but has also written for Norwegian childrens' TV programs including Portveien 2. He has published books of hymns and meditations. In 2007, the King of Norway made him a Commander in the Order of St. Norway.
He was the staff writer for the original 77 episodes of Sesam Stasjon and wrote lyrics for many of the songs used in those shows. He also authored a number of books for the series.
