"Fairy Godmonster" refers to a Sesame Street fairy tale sketch from season eight.
The story is brought to us courtesy of Grover, as the "fairy godmonster" in Mother Goose-like attire. In the enchanted forest, there lived a beautiful, but lonely princess (Maria) who one day happens upon a handsome prince (David). He claims to be under an enchantment caused by a terrible witch that has resulted in a total change in his appearance. The only way to break the curse is to be kissed three times by not only a beautiful princess, but one who can also fix a sink. The young princess pulls out her wrench, by sheer happenstance being the only princess plumber in the land.
Once the pair shares three kisses, the prince disappears in a puff of smoke. In his place is Kermit the Frog, thankful to no longer be under that awful spell. Grover comes into the scene to complain about this unexpected development; the couple were supposed to marry and open a hardware store in Cleveland. The scene then dissolves into chaos as Kermit complains about waiting around for his own story (on page 15 of the fairy tale book), Maria and David debate how to get uptown, and a cow barges onto the set to pretend to be a frog and a witch (reciting lines from Macbeth).
