Appearances
The December 23, 1986 issue featured the four-page feature, "A Sesame Street Holiday Story: Grover's Gift" by Emily Perl Kingsley and illustrated by Tom Cooke.
A "The Gift of the Magi" variation (similar to that used in Christmas Eve on Sesame Street), Cookie Monster trades his cookies for a teddy bear t-shirt for Radar (and Big Bird). Big Bird trades radar for a cookie jar. Grover makes everything right, however (and has a wrapped stick horse and sled waiting in the corner for himself).
The general store run by Granny Fanny shares architectural similarities to Hooper's Store. Granny Fanny also displays a knack for making Hanukkah snacks (potato pancakes). Grover is her part-time employee, adding yet another item to his resume.
