Beginning in 2000, Rittenhouse Archives produced several series of Farscape trading cards. There were a total of six series: one for each season of the show, Farscape in Motion, and Through the Wormhole.

In addition to the base sets (all of which consisted of 72 cards), there were several insert sets, such as autographed cards, behind-the-scenes cards, "The Quotable Farscape" (cards with memorable quotes), costume cards (cards with a genuine piece of a character's outfit), artist cards, and more.

A collector's album was also available for sale with each series, all of which came with plastic sheets and an exclusive card.

A contest was held in which someone could win a full set of the 13 costume cards. To win, players had to collect 16 of the contest cards (some cards had to be collected more than once) which would spell out "WIN FARSCAPE CARDS." Due to the high rarity of the "F" card, the odds of winning were only 1:6400.
