Fear Factor is a reality game show which aired on NBC from 2001-2006. Hosted by Joe Rogan, the show pitted contestants against one another in a series of stunts for a cash prize of $50,000. The stunts were designed to test contestants both physically and mentally, often involving elements to induce fear, such as Insects, Spiders, Snakes, Heights, Fire, or Water.
The show was featured as part of the world in which Kermit was never born for the movie It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie. Within that world, it is shown that Rizzo has became a prop in one of the stunts, placed in a rat cage with a woman's head, where she is told to eat Rizzo alive.
During the last seasons, the show featured many theme shows, including several featuring contestants from other reality television shows, such as The Amazing Race, Survivor, American Idol, The Apprentice, and The Real World. Other themes included the Miltary, Twins, and the Bates Motel.
