Ernie is impressed by Cookie Monster's device and talks about the benefits the device provides to the audience, simultaneously Cookie Monster eats Ernie's box of cookies. Ernie tests the Cookie Counter by pointing the rod at the box of cookies, the box doesn't ring. But that doesn't work, so Ernie also turns on the vacuum cleaner. When Bert finally gets the vacuum cleaner, the radio, and the water off, he finally can go to sleep...until he hears Ernie snoring. Big Bird feels better when he realizes that he can also crack walnuts, dig holes, and peck a tree with his beak... but he reassures Bob not to feel too bad about just having a nose.
