Educational Toys, Inc., a subsidiary of Topper Corp., produced the first line of Sesame Street finger puppets in 1971.

Topper lost the Sesame Street license in 1972, and the finger puppets were distributed in the last six months of 1972 by Gabriel Toys.[1]

In 1973, the transition of the Sesame Street license to Questor began, with the company marketing another set of finger puppets based on Topper's original models.

In the 1972 Topper catalog, Roosevelt Franklin, Sherlock Hemlock and Lefty The Salesman were marked as new additions to the line, though only Roosevelt is known to have been released on card.

Three finger puppets by Questor, distributed in Canada by Irwin Toy, are in the collection of the Canadian Museum of History.
