- In 1984, Kermit the Frog appeared in Miss Piggy's Art Masterpiece Calendar as "Green Boy," a spoof of Gainsborough's 1770 portrait The Blue Boy. The photo has since been reused a number of times including trading cards, a German poster, and a puzzle.
- Kermit also appeared as "Green Boy" in a limited edition porcelain statue manufactured by Enesco.
- From a color perspective, Baby Gonzo more appropriately stands in for The Blue Boy in the Muppet Babies episode "The Muppet Museum of Art". During the "Art Is in Your Heart" song montage, his head replaces the figure in the painting and looks nearby to see Baby Kermit working on "Green Boy" from the 1984 calendar. In reality, Baby Kermit is shown having painted his own version of the piece.
- Baby Animal appears as The Blue Boy in the Muppet Babies episode "My Fair Animal".
- Yorick appears as The Blue Boy in the same show's episode "Summer's Disaster-Piece".
