Game of Thrones is an HBO TV series (premiering in 2011) based on the Song of Ice and Fire book series by George R.R. Martin.

• Elmo appeared in a 2019 Game of Thrones-themed video with Cersei (Lena Headey) and Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) for Sesame Street's Respect Brings Us Together. Caricature Muppets of Cersei and Tyrion appear in another video for the campaign, where they are briefly seen knocking on Oscar's trash can.

• Sesame Street spoofed the series as "Game of Chairs" in Season 45's Episode 4522. Grover appears as "Grover Bluejoy" among caricatures of Tyrion Lannister (Martin P. • The official Twitter account for Sésamo tweeted an image of Cookie Monster as a member of the Night's Watch facing off against two dragon cookies on April 14, 2019, prior to the premiere of Game of Thrones season 8. • A t-shirt sold at Sesame Place features Cookie Monster with dragon scales in the style of the direwolf sigil from House Stark with a quote that paraphrases Tyrion Lannister, "I eat cookies and I know things." Cookie Monster tweeted a similar quote on April 28, 2019 [2] (the same night episode 3 of season 8 aired).

• The World of Ice & Fire — the real world and in-universe textbook detailing the history of Westeros — lists several members of House Tully who were named after Muppets: Lord Grover Tully, his grandson Ser Elmo Tully, and his great-grandsons Lord Kermit Tully and Ser Oscar Tully. After Grover Tully was mentioned on the sixth episode of HBO's 2022 series House of the Dragon, Sesame Street’s Grover tweeted, "Would anyone be so kind as to point me in the direction of these Riverlands you speak of?
