Kermit talks to people waiting in line for a game being held at the SuperGame Stadium, on being "first" and "last" in said line. He starts with the lady that is last in line, though she mistakenly believes Kermit is the one who is last given where he's standing. Kermit then moves up to the front to speak with the one who is first in line, though there doesn't seem to be a consensus as to who that may be. The gatekeeper arrives to welcome everybody in, and they all trample Kermit (though he is reassured someone will save him a seat).

Production[]

  • Taped on March 23, 1979[1]
  • Directed by Robert Myhrum[1]
  • Script title: "Kermit News: AM's in a Row" (with a curriculum noted as "First/Last")[2]

Supporting cast[]

Notes[]

  • Though the characters in line are not referred to by name in the aired version, the script identifies each one with a speaking role. They are likewise lined up in alphabetical order (Aaron is first, Zelda last). The Fat Blue AM is the only one not designated in the script.
  • The puppets used for Aaron, Bart, and Cloris also appear as back-up singers for the "Back Front Song Muppet Opera" with Madame Schwartzhead. The Fat Blue AM doubled as a cowboy for the "Try, Try Again" songs, and the Zelda puppet would be used for a doctor in the "In My Neighborhood" song.
