"Fly Me to the Moon", originally titled "In Other Words", is a popular song written in 1954 by Bart Howard. Kaye Ballard made the first recording of the song in 1954. Since then it has become a frequently recorded jazz standard often featured in popular culture. Frank Sinatra's 1964 version was closely associated with the Apollo missions to the Moon.
Rowlf the Dog sang a snippet of the song to himself as he prepares a moon voyage in the May 6, 1965 episode of The Jimmy Dean Show.
Oscar also hums the tune in Episode 1097 of Sesame Street as he prepares to launch a space probe.
Grover, as an astronaut, sings a bit of the tune to himself in the Sesame Place attraction The Amazing Adventures of Elmo and Zoe.
An instrumental of the song was heard in various episodes of the "Slimey to the Moon" arc on Sesame Street. That same season, Tony Bennett sang a parody of the tune entitled "Slimey to the Moon."
