Scene | Rumpel is making a lot of noise and Finchen asks him why he has to make so much noise. Rumpel replies that it's because he is a Grouch. He also says that he wished he lived on a different planet--a planet where he could make all the noise he wanted, and that planet would be called Grautschonia. Finchen says that she would love to see such a planet. Finchen calls on Rumpel and Karl Heinz as the rocket is ready for takeoff. |

Scene | Finchen is not surprised by how the planet looks like after they land on Grautschonia. Shortly afterwards, an alien stops them. It turns out to be a space Grouch called Rufus and it's his planet. Rumpel introduces himself as being an earth Grouch from Sesamstrasse. Rufus thinks Finchen is a funny looking Grouch, so Finchen has to explain that she's a snail. Rufus and Rumpel quickly agree that there's nothing better than loud noises. |

Scene | Rufus and Rumpel sings a song about being a Grouch and making noises. After, the song Rufus and Rumpel start to make various noises. Finchen begins to miss her leaf pile and asks Rumpel if he wants to go back home. Rumpel thinks about it and realizes that if he stays, there won't be any people to complain about the noise he makes, and then what's the point of making all the noise? So he decides to travel back with Finchen. Back on Sesamstrasse, Rumpel continues to throw things out of his barrel to make noise, and Finchen once again asks him not to make that much noise and leaves. Rumpel is happy that loud noises need to be heard by other people in order to be fun. |

He slowly ponders what happened to his best friend, coming to the conclusion that maybe some Martians took him away in their spaceship. As it turns out, Bert just got up early to fix some oatmeal.
