Footloose is a 1984 film starring Kevin Bacon as Ren, a city teenager who is relocated to a rural town where dancing has been forbidden by the local government. The film introduced two hit songs, including the title track by Kenny Loggins and the Academy Award-nominated "Let's Hear It for the Boy" by Deniece Williams.

The film later spawned a Broadway adaptation in 1998, and a remake in 2011.
