Just wondering: Todd in the Shadows made a reference to the Muppets in his most recent video; in the old days, we would just place this under "Other" on the Channel Awesome page. However, since Todd and many others haven't been part of CA since the exodus in early 2018, I went and put it in Minor Internet Mentions, as at least one other former CA producer (Phelous) is listed there as well.

Which is making me wonder: what should we do with the other former CA contributors listed in the "other" section who are no longer part of the site? Should they be moved to Minor Internet Mentions? Even if many of the videos listed were from when they were part of the site, I feel it inaccurate to keep listing them on the CA page if new mentions arise (in fact, at least one of the video mentions listed in there right now -- Todd's "Top 10 Best Hit Songs of 2018" -- is from a post-CA video, though I actually added that one a few years ago, likely because I wasn't sure where else to put it).

Thoughts? — Jesse (talk) 03:45, 22 June 2023 (UTC)

I'll be honest, the current Channel Awesome page looks overstuffed and random. I'm not sure we should have been tracking "Todd in the Shadows" and others who included random Muppet statements when snarking or whatever to begin with. It's true we track Mystery Science Theater 3000 and Rifftrax, and at least Nostalgia Critic/That Guy With Glasses seemed to have enough to be worth covering. But I feel like a lot of the other stuff could be jettisoned anyway, as it starts to feel like tracking every blog that mentions the Muppets with or without an obscenity, or random podcast that brings them up without actually being about it or otherwise meeting our notability guidelines. It at least could use re-appraisal and closer examination. The original page focus, as the lead suggests, was a lot narrower, and then it just kept ballooning. It seems time for some pruning. -- Andrew Emoji-droolAdminsig 04:05, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
