Just wanted to note here that the topic of the items in Sarah's room was recently discussed between Grant and Ko (welcome to the wiki!) on the Toughpigs Discord server. Ko explained that she spent a bunch of time with the folks in the forums at therpf.com to figure out all the books seen on screen and subsequently posted about it in her blog (linked on our article).
As Muppet Wiki has its own rules for sourcing, it was mentioned by Jon (who I don't believe saw the TP discussion) in the MW Admin Discord that the new information might need some verifying. Veteran editors know this is standard practice, but I just wanted to make sure we had a forum thread to discuss any issues or discrepancies that come up. —Scott

- Screen grabs would help too for reference pages, and in themselves would verify (or if the titles are in the uploaded images, maybe a way to point out the less obvious ones; I can't find Fungus the Boogeyman for example). 42nd Street and Get Along Gang would make for fun pages with screenshots.
- Also as kind of a sidenote, handling Discord discussions since unlike the forum, people can't see them without joining. Handled like this, just to mention the discussion, works well. But I'm not keen on the top of [[Sandbox:Fraggles with unofficial names|this sandbox]] in the note. Since it's a sandbox, it won't matter yet, but if a Discord discussion is being referred to as a source, then really a screengrab would be needed if someone who counts as a direct source was a participant or, if it's links and sources in the discussion, actually specify those. Again, not as big a concern with sandboxes but I'm a little leery in case this starts to happen more or creep into final articles. -- Andrew

- Regarding pointing out the less obvious titles, I can add them to the captions to uploaded images if that sounds like a good solution (For example, "Fungus the Boogeyman, visible in the lower right"). I'm also happy to give permission to upload photos of the matching books from my blog if that's of any interest, so folks can compare them to the screenshots directly.
- For some of the other items in Sarah's room, maybe we can add a gallery for the different collections? In addition to photos of the books, plush toys, and posters, it'd be nice to see some screenshots of the items that inspired characters from Labyrinth.-- KOMakesThings (talk) 02:09, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
- Kristi, would a table like the one on "Recycled props, costumes, and sets" work for what you're thinking of? I'm thinking a screenshot from the movie next to a clearer image of the subject sourced from elsewhere, accompanied by some descriptive text might be a good way to cover it. —Scott

- I like that idea too. -- Andrew

- I think that table would work well! Do you think that table would apply for the books as well as the character props? Majority of those books only appear in the one shot on Sarah's desk, so we may have to make a custom table that compares one screenshot to multiple books. For the props that inspire characters a good few of them have shown up in exhibitions in recent years, do we have any interest in using those photos? The majority of my reference collection were saved from random social media posts that came across my feed and I did not keep track of who they were from as I originally intended them for my personal reference only, let me know if we want to avoid unsourced images. I do know of a few folks we can cite directly if we use their images. -- KOMakesThings (talk) 01:58, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
- I think we could do the character props, for sure.
- I added a table to the page to get us started. So many repeating screenshots on the left looks weird, so I might try to do something with that later today (if I have the time) using some varied images.
- As for credit, I think most of what you find around the internet is fair game. We typically don't credit someone for scanning the cover of a book mostly because it's impossible to know all the time. Crafted photos like the recreation you made of Sarah's bookend would be a different story obviously, but that wouldn't go on the wiki anyway as it counts as fan art. —Scott
