So basically, I was at Pass Over on Broadway today and there was a moment where one of the characters sang the Pinball Number Count song. Obviously that's not a big enough reference to make a whole article, but the thought occurred to me we may want to have an article for Minor Theater Mentions, or rather Minor Stage Mentions a la Category:Stage Mentions? There's a reference to Sesame Street in one of the songs from Heathers as well. I'd be in favor of a page like that. - Shane latest?cb=20200820192427 (talk) 00:31, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
I've gone ahead and made a Minor Stage Mentions page. I put in the two references from this discussion, but now that I think about it we should probably have some form of criteria for what gets listed. It being a show performed in a professional setting seems to make the most sense––but then again (and speaking as a theater person myself), I'm not sure a stray reference in a super Off-Off-Broadway play that only a few people see would be notable on its own. Perhaps something about if the reference is documented elsewhere, such as in a published script or in an article/review about the performance? Or if the show itself has enough coverage in media that it is significant enough to be included? TenCents (talk) 02:27, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
I moved your creation into a sandbox space for now, just so we can get a little more consensus on this (but it seems to be heading in a good direction). I do agree that there should be some sort of criteria in determining what can go there. - Shane latest?cb=20200820192427 (talk) 02:33, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
I added some notablity text: "Only shows with some form of professional staging, published script/lyrics, or other notable spotlight or documentation should be included." I think that's a start (and of course, a minor mention in a show which has its own page would go there instead) and also prevents inclusion of non-licensed walkaround kids shows or anything like that. -- Andrew Emoji-droolAdminsig 03:27, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
