Participation in the Muppet Wiki Forums requires a full understanding of the Rules and Etiquette.
I've been trying to track down screengrabs and futher details/confirmation of the various promos and appearances for Muppets Tonight promotion. There are a few that have been floating around the wiki for the past 17 years, and I've been searching high and low but have been unable to track down anything further on them.
- Muppets Tonight Promos (three ABC promos, including one with Bob Saget) -- added by Michael in May 2006
- Behind the Ears Preview with Gonzo and Kermit promoting Goin' Wild with Jeff Corwin coming up next -- added by Michael in September 2006 (with an assist by Danny on the Talk page)
- Fozzie Bear on The Rosie O'Donnell Show -- added by W-Scooter in July 2006

- I redirected Muppets Tonight promos on the grounds that Michael noted that they were based on his memories.
- I searched newspapers.com and the old newsgroups for Fozzie's appearance on Rosie, but I couldn't find anything. —Scott

- I haven't been able to dig up anything on Fozzie on Rosie either, it could have been a cameo and something not as a featured or billed "guest" (thus not in the TV listings)... or it could be a fuzzy memory.

- I did just find a first-hand, at-the-time account of the Bob Saget spot here at alt.tv.muppets to corroborate the memory. I think that's enough to keep it and add it back to Muppets Tonight promotion. —Scott (talk) 15:10, 6 October 2023 (UTC)

- Interesting. That says it was Piggy and Saget; we've been saying it was Fozzie. Perhaps they taped more than one. -- BradFraggle (talk) 15:41, 6 October 2023 (UTC)

- Regarding the Saget promos, I'm not sure if Marion Stokes recorded ABC News, but it's possible her collection has these. I'm not sure what's happening with Archive.org's digitization of her project either. —Scott (talk) 19:31, 8 October 2023 (UTC)
- I'm thinking for Fozzie, we should add a cite tag to The Rosie O'Donnell Show for now and just plain take off of the promotion page. Because apart from not being sure it happened or when, we know the Miss Piggy appearance mentioned Muppets Tonight. We don't have footage to confirm that with Fozzie (what if he actually showed up after the show ended?) -- Andrew

- That seems like a fair way to handle the Rosie claim until we get more solid info. Since we have no details or image or anything, listing it on the promotion page does seem somewhat pointless right now.
- Looking at old TV listings from the summer of 1996, it appears Muppets Tonight only aired back-to-back with AFHV on Sundays for four weeks (June 23, June 30, July 7 and July 14) as ABC burned off the final four episodes of the season (no reruns aired in the slot on any other weeks). So if there were promos for Muppets Tonight airing on Sunday nights, they would've likely aired between June 16 and July 14, 1996. So the report from the alt.tv.muppets group claming to have seen one on Friday, July 5th (possibily during TGIF to inform those viewers of the move) checks out. I've checked a few online recordings of ABC primetime shows with commercials breaks from that time but haven't come across any Muppet promos yet.
