:::"Alarm Clock Bird," while labeled by function, would need to be rewritten entirely for a page move to make sense. "Canario" is spoken by the bird in Episode 1278 when Big Bird wonders what the Spanish word for canary is, but its not meant to be the bird's name (there's one "this canario" but otherwise just "a canary," "the canary," "this canary," etc.) Both characters only appear pretty briefly it seems. So we could either make a Canario page and link the two as Same Puppet, Different Character instances (as we often do; it would also help if anybody who's seen the episode can ID the performer) or the page needs to be redone first. Linz citation aside, script and dialogue don't treat it as an actual name, script has "A.M. Canary"; that's fine, we have lots of pages labeled that way, but the article should make the distinction. -- Andrew 02:03, 20 October 2021 (UTC)

::::I'd like to know how Linz got the name in the first place before a move. It's possible that "Canario" is labeled onto the puppet itself, but I feel the name origin needs verification from Linz. Otherwise, I'm fine with just calling it "Canary" as the script (if that's what Andrew is referencing) uses that moniker over and over. -- Tony (talk) 02:10, 20 October 2021 (UTC)

:::::Source is indeed the script. Checking Facebook, Linz spelled it "Canaryo" (so for citation reasons, quotes should be accurate, but a note on differing spelling in script as fine) and was talking about a different bird puppet as being the rebuild. The current text isn't clear on that either. So I'd say reworking would be the first step before any moving, whether or not Linz can remember five years later where the "I'm told" (meaning it wasn't firsthand) came from. -- Andrew 02:18, 20 October 2021 (UTC)

:::The pun makes more sense with Salvador, and Salvatore is pronounced with an "ay" at the end (Henson's pronunciation makes harder d or t equally likely to me). I'm also not terribly keen on renames based on what YouTube text uses, even from Sesame Workshop. Participation in the Muppet Wiki Forums requires a full understanding of the Rules and Etiquette.

I thought I'd start a thread on potential name changes to pages or characters whenever needed. I have a few in mind to start:

 • Alarm Clock Bird to "CanΓ rio" -- Peter Linz has sighted this name for the character on its page, and is supported by the puppet's appearance in Episode 1278.
 • Birdnardo Birdolucci to "Birdnardo Birdtolucci" -- per the spelling on Gina's slate from that episode.
 • Prince Rudolph -- stays the same, per someone's onscreen evidence from the Disney+ captions.
 • Bugsy (Muppet Show) to "Bugsy Salsapueda" -- same reason for Prince Rudolph, per his discussion page.
 • Sandbox:Sesame Street Episode Number Animations to "Sesame Street Show Identifications" (or Show IDs) - once it's moved from the Sandbox, as the scripts list these as "Show ID."

I figured it'd be better to discuss them here rather than just move them willy-nilly. What does everybody think? -- Tony (talk) 14:32, 19 October 2021 (UTC)

I think I can get behind these (Birdtolucci spelling is also supported by the script). - Shane latest?cb=20200820192427 (talk) 14:38, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
The audio sample for Bugsy is still available on his talk page, and it matches exactly with the caption. -- Tony (talk) 14:49, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
"Alarm Clock Bird," while labeled by function, would need to be rewritten entirely for a page move to make sense. Another one: Salvador Dada to "Salvatore Dada" -- the spelling comes from Jim Henson: The Works, but the YouTube release (YouTube) calls him Salvatore, which is supported by how the character himself says the name. -- Tony (talk) 15:13, 22 October 2021 (UTC)
The pun makes more sense with Salvador, and Salvatore is pronounced with an "ay" at the end (Henson's pronunciation makes harder d or t equally likely to me).
