[[Sandbox:Rare occurrences]] was started as a place to collect and crowdsource lists of rare occurances to see if there was enough information/examples to be interesting but it feels a bit too open-ended and unfocued to ever live outside the sandbox. It's grown and collected some great things but some things feel unnoteworthy. A page like this can very easily go down a slippery slope of farming tons of pointless minutiae (do we need to track "Lew Zealand without his fish" or "Bill the Bubble Guy in Sunglasses" or "Beaker without a necktie" or "Muppets Tonight episodes the begin with a song in C#"?).

I've tried to organize and find "homes" for some of the stronger information (such as moving instances of Kermit without his collar to the page about Kermit's collar, or tracking Statler and Waldorf's solo appearances simply on their filmography. The rare views of Bert and Ernie's apartment could just go on the page for the apartment, and Sully's solo appearances could be noted in a section on his character page). Some might have potential to live in a more focused article (I spun-off the Miss Piggy stuff to try to maintain some focus and scope) however some (such as all the various Without a Hat lists) might just be too listcrufty and random to keep track of on such an broadly open concept page like this. Even a "Characters without their hats" page seems too broad, as tracking something like Fozzie without his hat feels about as vast as tracking Oscar outside his trashcan (something we abandoned because it wasn't that rare).

Thoughts? -- BradFraggle (talk) 20:59, 5 January 2023 (UTC)

I don't think it's worth making a page just for Scooter and Skeeter's eyes; what's already been said on the rare occurrences page is fine as is. Though, there might be an exception for characters that have glasses in such a way like Don Music, etc. But that's already covered (albeit briefly) in Muppet eyes. The instances with Forgetful without a hat isn't notable as there are at least nine examples. Biff and Sully's can easily be combined, and the Fraggles in Outer Space can be expanded to anyone living in Fraggle Rock. I agree with the Bert and Ernie apartment stuff being moved to said page. -- Tony latest?cb=20200820192427 (talk) 21:14, 5 January 2023 (UTC)
I guess my question would be is detailed tracking of appearances of Scooter's eyes (beyond a brief sentence or two on his character page or the "Muppet eyes" article) even worth doing or not? If it isn't notable or interesting, that's fine -- let's just drop the section and move on. But if it is something worth collecting and tracking, I struggle to see how a page of random "rare occurrences" is the best place/way to publicly share that info, nor does such a page feel like it's something that could ever live outside the sandbox. -- BradFraggle (talk) 21:34, 5 January 2023 (UTC)
The rare occurrences is a good idea and makes for an interesting page, but I don't think there is enough info on Scooter and Skeeter's eyes to justify a solo page. It was fine where it was. -- Tony latest?cb=20200820192427 (talk) 21:40, 5 January 2023 (UTC)
Also, see my previous edit. I justified the rewriting where I could, some of which has also been noted here. -- Tony latest?cb=20200820192427 (talk) 21:44, 5 January 2023 (UTC)
