Participation in the Muppet Wiki Forums requires a full understanding of the Rules and Etiquette.
Hello everyone! I’ve been going through and expanding/updating various merchandise pages across the Wiki. As I’ve been doing this, I’ve come across quite a few pages that I believe should be re-named for either consistency, accuracy and/or to avoid confusion with other pages.
- Sesame Street animated Christmas figures → Sesame Street animated figures (Gemmy Industries); Gemmy made non-Christmas Sesame Street figures. In addition, another company called Telco made a line of Sesame Street animated figures which I’ll be making a page about soon.
- Elmo inflatables → Sesame Street inflatables (Gemmy Industries); Gemmy also made a Cookie Monster inflatable
- The Dark Crystal puzzles → The Dark Crystal puzzles (Milton Bradley); to avoid confusion with the rest of Category:Dark Crystal Puzzles
- The Dark Crystal pins → The Dark Crystal pins (Zen Monkey Studios); to avoid confusion with The Dark Crystal pins (Little Shop of Pins)
- Labyrinth pins → Labyrinth pins (Zen Monkey Studios); to avoid confusion with other pages such as The Dark Crystal pins (Little Shop of Pins)
- The Dark Crystal lunchbox → The Dark Crystal lunchbox (Thermos); to avoid confusion with The Dark Crystal lunchboxes (Aquarius)
- Linden Wubbulous World Clock → Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss clocks; for consistency with the rest of the Wubbulous World merch pages- also I recently added another one so the singular “clock” would be inaccurate
- Bear in the Big Blue House toothbrushes (Happee Care) → Bear in the Big Blue House toothbrushes (World Trend Inc.); my mistake. All of the toothbrushes on that page are from World Trend Inc, but not all are from Happee Care. Happee Care is a brand under that company.
- There are also some inconsistencies with pages on Category:Dark Crystal Merchandise and Category:Hoobs Merchandise regarding The being in the title.
This isn't a complete list, just what I've noticed along the way. I wasn't sure where to put this, and I know this stuff is pretty minor compared to some of the larger projects here, but I thought I'd put in a request to change these page names here anyways. - Done and done! I also set up redirects for Dark Crystal pins, Labyrinth pins, and Dark Crystal puzzles.
- Also, also, I granted you Content Moderator rights, which has the ability to move pages. You've more than proven that you understand the way we've set up the article naming conventions and category structure here. Try to keep in mind redirects when moving. For example, moving The Dark Crystal puzzles to The Dark Crystal puzzles (Milton Bradley) meant that the former became a redirect to the latter. I had to keep in mind that it would be more appropriate to redirect it to the category so that you find DC puzzles from all the brand when searching and browsing.
