Forums: Index > Article Content > Should I create a category for lost muppet tv shows

Participation in the Muppet Wiki Forums requires a full understanding of the Rules and Etiquette.

so I was going to create a category for fully lost muppets tv shows like the junior morning show. so I decided to ask if I should, or if it is unnecessary. also I found the 1000th episode of the PAU HANA YEARS on YouTube and it seems it was from 1969 not 1977, so could that info we already have on it be wrong?Tellymustard (talk) 22:50, 16 July 2021 (UTC)

First, no, "lost" whatever isn't a category we use for anything here (we'll note when things don't survive or circulate, and Lost episodes of Sesame Street for specific instances). A lot of regional early TV shows weren't saved, or only partial clips exist (and in some cases audio exists, but not video), but it's not useful to us to try to create a category for it.
For the second question, the original Vimeo upload (now gone) was from a producer, so a trusted source. The YouTube user who reuploaded it has no connection and the graphic on the YouTube user's reupload says March *1968*, which is before Sesame even existed. See Muppet Wiki:Sources for what are reliable sources (comments or notes from media uploaders count only if they were provably participants in the project and a direct source). -- Andrew Emoji-droolAdminsig 22:59, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
Nice find on "Pau Hana Years", though. But yeah, the uploader put their own title card on at the beginning for some reason and it's clearly wrong. 1968 might be when the show started or something; I don't know, I haven't researched it yet. Once we do, we're probably ready to create a page for it, so thanks for posting the link.
The Vimeo video we linked to from Muppet Wiki:Unidentified Appearances appears to be dead and I don't seem to have it backed up. Does anyone else have it or know if it contained info we can use in the article that isn't present in the episode posted on YouTube? I've skimmed through that and found the source of the Oscar screenshot we already have as well as two short bits with Big Bird. —Scott latest?cb=20200820192427 (talk) 12:03, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
using internet archive this is what I found on the video documentary from Vimeo.
it was 5 minutes 59 seconds long. the description went like this,

In 1977 (or so) i was a student at the university of hawaii at manoa. i was also an contributing producer for the 1000th show of a hawaii staple, pau hana years with the great, late bob barker. coincidentally i was also the personal assistant to big bird of sesame street on his trip to hawaii, as such i was able to enlist both big bird (carroll spinney) and oscar the grouch to contribute to the show. the following are my on-camera appearances on the show with oscar, dp joe konno, director monte hickok, and the crew of pau hana years. i coulda been a contender....

it was posted in march 2010, and it was posted by Johnathan Moser. --Tellymustard (talk) 00:24, 18 July 2021 (UTC)
Good call on using Internet Archive. I didn't bother check as I knew the video wouldn't be there. It didn't occur to me that the text description might have something useful. Here's the archived link.
Also Luke, please use proper spelling and grammar. Not capitalizing the first word in a sentence or proper nouns on an article would be grounds for reversion. Thanks! —Scott latest?cb=20200820192427 (talk) 11:54, 18 July 2021 (UTC)
