I need your help with something big! I'm starting a brand-new wiki all about the PBS show "The Electric Company". To clarify, it's all about the show that aired from 1971 to 1977, starred Morgan Freeman and Rita Moreno, and taught children all about letters, phonics, and reading. I need some more members on this wiki to help upload images and videos and create important pages about cast members and characters. The link to the wiki is down there:

I'm asking you because Sesame Street and Electric Company both came from the Children's Television Workshop, and because Big Bird, Grover, and Oscar have all guest-starred on The Electric Company. So let's all work together to turn it on and give you the power! Jucas Lohnson (talk) 19:08, 3 September 2022 (UTC)Lucas Johnson
- Why don't you contribute to the existing one at w:c:theelectriccompany? —Scott (talk) 22:46, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
- On the one hand, that wiki is about the 2009-2011 series, with just one weak article about the 1970s series, and there's some fanfic stuff and just plain errors to deal with (their Paul the Gorilla page tries to be about the 2009 version but uses a pic of the gorilla from Sesame English), plus the kind of irrelevant pages we actively delete on Muppet Wiki (Jock from Lady and the Tramp, just because someone randomly added it). On the other, it doesn't seem like there's any active admins (recent edits, mainly May, are by anonymous IPs) so you could place an Adoption Request at Community Central and tailor it more to your liking to cover the original as well (though you'd likely be expected to keep the existing halfway decent 2009 pages, or it may not even matter depending on how long it's been abandoned). You'd also probably need to actually do some cleanup work there first for the adoption to succeed. -- Andrew 23:00, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for the tips, Scott and Andrew! I was kind of hoping for the 1971 and 2009 shows to be on two different wikis, though. The formats and cast lists on both shows are different. Jucas Lohnson (talk) 02:43, 4 September 2022 (UTC)Lucas
- Oh, wait, one more thing! Here's a link to my new wiki right here. Please tell me if I'm plagiarizing Muppet Wiki in any way. https://the-electric-company-19711977.fandom.com/wiki/Show_1 --Jucas Lohnson (talk) 01:21, 7 September 2022 (UTC)Lucas
I have a problem. Earlier this month I made a brand-new wiki about the 1971-1977 TV show The Electric Company, but it was only up for a few days before it mysteriously got closed. I just want to know, what happened? Did somebody do something wrong? Did I accidentally plaziarize or copy the formula from this wiki too much? Jucas Lohnson (talk) 15:37, 24 September 2022 (UTC)Lucas
- As referenced above, Fandom typically closes duplicate wikis, so that's probably why it closed. Click on the old link for more instructions and use Special:Contact to reach out to staff. —Scott (talk) 15:56, 24 September 2022 (UTC)
- Oh. I didn't really think the wiki was a duplicate wiki because it feels like the old and new Electric Company shows are two different shows, so I thought they needed two different wikis. I did specify this one was 1971-1977, anyway. Plus, there are actually two wikis dedicated to the new Electric Company. I used to work on one of them. - I've decided to expand on the preexisting one here. w:c:theelectriccompany But I can't do it alone. I'll need some help from experts who know more than I do. I look forward to Electric Company Wiki being just as amazing and informative as Muppet Wiki. Jucas Lohnson (talk) 00:00, 27 September 2022 (UTC)Lucas
- I don't know much about The Electric Company, but I really hope this wiki does well, and perhaps you could find editors for the wiki who know a lot about the show. By the way, have you considered adopting the wiki? As I noticed that some images that were unrelated to the show were uploaded to the wiki earlier this year, and if you adopt the wiki, you could delete You can request a wiki adoption here: https://community.fandom.com/wiki/Adoption:Requests Good luck with the wiki! - Update: the wiki is going along very nicely. Still, a little bit of help would be nice. I just noticed that some of the pictures on this wiki are of Sesame Street episodes that were captured way back in 2008, like the earliest version of the "Chair SIT" sketch that last appeared in 3868. If pictures like that were captured before the episodes got taken down, I was just wondering if anyone on this amazing wiki has any Electric Company episode images they'd like to share. Help is always appreciated! Jucas Lohnson (talk) 15:51, 18 November 2022 (UTC)Lucas
- MAJOR UPDATE: And this is big news we're talking, people! I just learned from my colleague, elelover95, that the University of Maryland contains scripts for (almost) EVERY SINGLE EPISODE of the Electric Company! And seven unaired test shows. I just wanted to let you know that so just in case any professionals working on this wiki live close to the University of Maryland or plan to go there soon, they can send us vital information on lost-to-time Electric Company episodes. (If it isn't too troubling.) I'm telling you this because there aren't as many "professionals" on Electric Company wiki - there's just three of us working on it. So, just getting that out in the open, just in case you want to think about that a little... Jucas Lohnson (talk) 16:19, 19 November 2022 (UTC)Lucas
- I have a question: how do you do a "popup" on a different wiki? I noticed that the "Sand Alphabet" page has popups to show the variants of segments. I want to do the same for the "Scanimate" page on Electric Company Wiki, but somehow that wiki doesn't allow the "popup" feature. Is that an exclusive thing that only some wikis can do, or am I not doing it right? Jucas Lohnson (talk) 17:18, 22 January 2023 (UTC)Lucas
