Our section of Kennedy Center honorees is titled "Honorees with Muppet connections," and yet it also includes at least several people who have only been referenced and never worked or appeared with the Muppets or Henson (e.g. James Brown, Tina Turner, etc.). Does our Connections policy apply here (namely, to exclude references) or should we just retitle the section? Thoughts? β€” Jon latest?cb=20200820192427 (talk) 03:39, 16 January 2022 (UTC)

Agreed. There's pages like Grauman's Chinese Theatre which have a mix but also aren't labeled Connections. This feels like it should be handled like Academy Award winners. Looking at the page, the user adding just didn't check originally (this was long after we'd developed the policy) and most of the random reference additions (Shirley Temple, for example) came just in the past few days. I'm going to go ahead and trim and fix, as I don't think there's a whole lot of value to having James Stewart or Bob Dylan there. That's what Wikipedia links are for, to cover everyone. Listing some who weren't connections like Earth, Wind & Fire in the text passage for the pertinent years is fine, the way we do sometimes with people in all-star specials even if they won't get pages or wouldn't belong in a connections list. -- Andrew Emoji-drool.gifAdminsig.png 05:29, 16 January 2022 (UTC)
I just pruned Kennedy. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame could use some fixing too, but part of it is due to the page coming out of sandbox without checking that section, and as is it's labeled "Connections / Inductees," so there's two choices: trim to actual connections or just take out the first word. (Songwriters Hall of Fame is full of people just covered by the Muppets, but again it's not labeled as connections, so it's closer to President of the United States which links to every Prez with a page, including those deceased at the time, and has verbiage to explain depictions and references are included). -- Andrew Emoji-drool.gifAdminsig.png 05:50, 16 January 2022 (UTC)
