:Buzz, you started this thread questioning a specific addition to the Cross-dressing page, which has now been resolved, and in the past week you've left two more queries about adding other unrelated content. Frankly, it's becoming a bit much to have to answer each time. Collaborating on the Wiki involves give-and-take, and sometimes that means accepting changes made by others and moving on. You can't keep constantly questioning additions or removals made by admins, especially when they explain why [https://muppet.fandom.com/wiki/Cross-dressing_characters?diff=prev&oldid=1640246 as I did here]. We realize you've been a major contributor to the page for about a decade, and we appreciate it, but I think you need to temporarily focus on something else, or at the very least limit your questioning to once a month. Thanks. — [[User:Jbrangwynne53|Jon]] [https://muppet.fandom.com/wiki/Muppet_Wiki:Admins https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/muppet/images/8/89/Adminsig.png/revision/latest?cb=20200820192427] ([[User_talk:Jbrangwynne53|talk]]) 00:00, 16 March 2024 (UTC) |

Participation in the Muppet Wiki Forums requires a full understanding of the Rules and Etiquette.
Back in 2013, when I was just a newbie who was still learning the do's and don'ts of wiki editing, I wanted to add this image to the Cross-dressing characters page. The admins told me that Abby, Zoe, Rosita and Prairie Dawn aren't really cross-dressing because their outfits consist of dresses with the Count's cape and sash as accessories. But if you look closely enough, you can see that all of the Count cosplayers--even the girls--are sporting fake goatees (you can't really tell with Rosita because another Muppet (Sigrid) is in her way; see this image for a closer look), and that's why I thought it should count (no pun intended). Same with Maria and Leela (and the same four female Muppets) in Episode 4411 (see here). Fast forward to the present--I gave Jon this long-overdue explanation, and he suggested I ask my question on the forum.
So, admins, what do you think? Can we include those images if I provide the above explanation? Buzzfan120 (talk) 06:54, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
- Beards on the girls does seem to push the intent beyond putting them in Count-inspired dresses and into the cross-dressing category. —Scott (talk) 13:16, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
- The fake facial hair and the clear intent to impersonate the Count does seem to change the context (they're not just wearing Count-inspired outfits, they're dressed as the Count himself). We've counted other female characters simply with fake beards or mustaches as cross-dressing, so I don't know why this wouldn't count too. I'm not sure if each individual woman or girl (Abby, Gina, Leela, Maria, Prairie, Rosita, Zoe, and 3+ kids) need their own row on the chart... maybe just an entry for "various girls as the Count in Episode 4411." -- BradFraggle (talk) 15:58, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's what I was thinkin'. Buzzfan120 (talk) 17:33, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
- Well I was thinking about adding one row for Abby, Zoe, Rosita and Prairie, mentioning both Episode 4411 and the Jim Henson Company 2012 Holiday Party display; and one row for Maria, Gina and Leela. Buzzfan120 (talk) 00:01, 9 March 2024 (UTC)
I have another question about the Cross-dressing characters page: If there's an instance of a character cross-dressing that we know of but don't have an image of (such as a bewigged Kermit lip-synching to "Eloise", the Esskay commercial with Harry the Hipster in drag as a female librarian (which was rediscovered in 2016 at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York), or Rumpel as the princess in Feli Filu's fairytale report in Sesamstrasse Folge 2424), could I add it to the page with this placeholder file? Buzzfan120 (talk) 17:57, 9 March 2024 (UTC)
- This page really depends on visuals for each entry, so I would say no for those examples unless video for each happens to surface. Anyway, the Count examples are both groups, so they really only have to be summarized in two rows, maybe even just one. — Jon (talk) 18:24, 9 March 2024 (UTC)
- OK, thanks for the clarification. And that's what I meant--just two rows will do. Buzzfan120 (talk) 18:37, 9 March 2024 (UTC)
One more question: do you think we should have an "Honorable Mentions" section for celebrities, such as John Ritter filling in for Miss Piggy in The Fantastic Miss Piggy Show and Jimmy Kimmel playing his sister Kimmy to help Abby illustrate "sibling" as the Word of the Day in Episode 4269? Buzzfan120 (talk) 20:37, 15 March 2024 (UTC)
- Buzz, you started this thread questioning a specific addition to the Cross-dressing page, which has now been resolved, and in the past week you've left two more queries about adding other unrelated content. Frankly, it's becoming a bit much to have to answer each time. Collaborating on the Wiki involves give-and-take, and sometimes that means accepting changes made by others and moving on. You can't keep constantly questioning additions or removals made by admins, especially when they explain why as I did here. We realize you've been a major contributor to the page for about a decade, and we appreciate it, but I think you need to temporarily focus on something else, or at the very least limit your questioning to once a month. Thanks. — Jon (talk) 00:00, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
