Following a discussion we had at Talk: Worthington back in 2009, I thought it would be a good time to come back to who Worthington's performer might be. I'm pretty confident it's Bob Payne. We have much more of his voices to go by now and I'm hearing dead giveaways in "not too good", "that's just it, Bob", and "it's just an old box". Have a listen here. Thoughts? —Scott (talk) 21:09, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- It sounds more like Caroll Spinney to me, and there is enough evidence that shows he didn't just perform additional characters in the early years. He's performing AMs as late as season 7 according to his character page. Maybe there should be a vocal comparison video with the known perfomances? -- MuppetDude (talk) 21:26, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- Also, here's the full segment for further comparison: (YouTube) -- MuppetDude (talk) 21:27, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- I guess it would be too early for Payne. I was thinking it was too late for Spinney, but I suppose we've disproven that over the past year with Caroll Spinney characters. I also thought the puppetry was too good for Spinney; in the first couple of seasons, he was awful, especially with AMs. But this is a couple years later, and he'd been getting better. —Scott (talk) 22:16, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- As the first one to question it on the wiki long ago, I gave it another listen, and it does sound a bit more like Spinney than I thought before. I keep hearing hints of the voice he's used for female characters like the mother in "Consider Yourself" and I think characters he did on Bozo's Big Top. --Minor muppetz (talk) 17:16, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
