Frère Jacques is a French nursery melody, often sung in a round. It is alternately known as "Are You Sleeping?" or "Brother John".
The melody of the song is used to help Gene Kelly teach Kermit the Frog how to dance in The Muppet Show episode 501.
Rowlf the Dog and various Muppets and kids perform variations on the song as warm-ups in Sing-Along, Dance-Along, Do-Along.
Wolfgang the Seal plays the song on the horns in Sesame Street Episode 2638.
