John Aylesworth and Frank Peppiatt
Frank Peppiatt (1927-2012) and John Aylesworth (1928-2010) paired as a writing team, best remembered for creating Hee Haw. They were staff writers on the first season of The Jimmy Dean Show, including scripting the sketch on the October 17, 1963 broadcast where Rowlf falls in love with Puff.[1]
The pair began in advertising in Canada and then wrote and performed sketch comedy as Peppiatt and Aylesworth on early CBC TV series. They moved to America and worked as comedy writers, contributing to The Andy Williams Show, Perry Como's Kraft Music Hall, The Julie Andrews Hour, Shields and Yarnell, and The Steve Allen Comedy Hour, among others. They were often producers on their later projects as well.
