Fred is the nephew of Ebenezer Scrooge in The Muppet Christmas Carol. Fred is Scrooge's only living relative, a cheerful young man who vainly attempts to invite his uncle to Christmas dinner. Fred is friendly with Bob Cratchit, and is married to Clara. After visiting Fred's home with The Ghost of Christmas Present, Scrooge learns that he is the punchline for the young couple's party games, an object of amiable but sincere derision.
