Fred Bedderhead is a character from the 2002 film The Country Bears.
He served as the titular band's bassist and harmonica player and is the younger brother of fellow ex-bandmate Ted Bedderhead. Following the band's breakup, he found work as a security guard on the set of a music video for Krystal, who upon learning of his past, invites him to participate in the shoot, which culminates in Fred unsuccessfully attempting his signature creation, the stage dive.
He is the first to be approached by Henry and Beary about reuniting the band for a benefit concert for their former concert hall, and expresses skepticism about how they are going to attract an audience. Later on, when confronting his brother about the true nature of his job and his refusal to re-join the band, Fred knocks him out and takes him to the other members of the group.
Fred later finds and reads an essay from Beary (who had by then returned to his family) about what the band means to him, inspiring them to put aside their differences and officially agree to reunite for the concert.
