Candice Bergen sings "Friends" with Gonzo, Blue Frackle, Hilda, Fozzie, Mildred Huxtetter, Rowlf, Kermit, and Scooter as the closing number of The Muppet Show episode 115.

The song is perhaps best-known as Bette Midler's theme song. It was spoofed on Sesame Street by the Bette Midler-inspired Miss M as "The Sublime Ms. M."
