"From Your Head" is a Sesame Street song about creativity. It debuted as a cartoon insert, animated by Sally Cruikshank and sung by Betty Carter.

In Season 28, the song was performed by Elmo and jazz singer Diane Schuur, still incorporating elements of Cruikshank's animation. The two reprised the song in a 2000 episode of Evening at Pops.

Cruikshank cites this as her personal favorite piece for the show and has remarked about the segment:

โ€œIt was so challenging to come up with images because the lyrics were so abstract โ€” thoughts come from your head, dreams come from your head, songs come from your head. The lyrics were very hard to get a hold of.[1]โ€
