"Furry Happy Monsters" is a parody of the R.E.M. song "Shiny Happy People," and was performed by R.E.M. on Sesame Street. This song is about monsters being happy, then sad, then happy again.
In addition to the Day Care Monsters (and the Two-Headed Monster), R.E.M. was joined by a back-up singer, the Kate Pierson Muppet.
