Gaiam Vivendi Entertainment (formerly known as Vivendi Entertainment) is an entertainment distribution company, originally owned by Universal Music Group before being purchased by Gaiam in 2012. Despite this, the company is still headquartered in Universal City, California.
It briefly held North American home video rights to Sesame Workshop properties acquired from Genius Entertainment in 2009.[1] Warner Home Video took over North American home video rights to Sesame Workshop properties in 2010.[2]
In 2013, Vivendi Entertainment acquired the distribution rights to Fraggle Rock and other Henson Company properties which were previously released on video by HIT Entertainment and Lionsgate.
The company hasn't released any Henson properties on video for a while, and it's likely that their contract with The Jim Henson Company has expired. Fraggle Rock DVDs as of 2018 have been released by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
