The evolution of Garibaldo.

Vila Sésamo season 1 (1972-1973) |
The original Garibaldo was designed and built by puppet builder Naum Alves de Souza. He was blue (which was only revealed in merchandise and in Roberto Carlos Especial, since Vila Sésamo was aired in black and white) and had big eyes.
Vila Sésamo season 2 (1973-1974) |
The new Garibaldo puppet is similar to the original except his head is more circular, and there's a purple feather in the middle of his eyes. His eyes are also shifted upward and farther from his beak, giving him a somewhat awkward look.
Vila Sésamo season 3 (1975-1977) |
Garibaldo loses his purple feather and has smaller eyes. When the co-production ended, Big Bird was renamed Garibaldo in Brazilian dubs of Sesame Street projects.
Vila Sésamo revival series (2007-2016) |
Consistent with the use of the name "Garibaldo" for Big Bird in previous dubbed footage, Garibaldo is now a replica of the Big Bird puppet. |
