Gary Halvorson is a prolific television director whose credits include many episodes of Muppets Tonight and the feature film The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland. He also directed NBC's telecast of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade from 1994 through 2014, which featured regular appearances by the Sesame Street cast.
Halvorson's other credits include numerous episodes of Friends, Roseanne, Everybody Loves Raymond, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, and Two and a Half Men.
