Gary Martin is a British voice actor who was heard in the 1994 Creature Shop-effects film The Neverending Story III, receiving screen credit as the voice of Mr. Rockchewer and Junior Rockchewer. Uncredited, he supplied other character voices, including the Unluck Rabbit and dubbing German actor Thomas Petruo as Large Head.[1] In 1996, he was heard in another Creature Shop-effects film, The Adventures of Pinocchio, voicing a giant in the puppet show which Pinocchio performs in, as well as the sounds for the Creature Shop sea monster.[2] He voiced the Honey Monster for Sugar Puffs commercials, including the Creature Shop version.
Martin's show biz background began in West End musicals, with roles such as Rocky in The Rocky Horror Show, the voice of Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors, and Munkustrap in Cats. He worked in jingles, commercial voice-overs, and movie trailers. For the film version of Little Shop of Horrors, he dubbed Seymour's limo driver in "The Meek Shall Inherit" (cut from the final film but included on the movie soundtrack). Character voice work includes Zordrak on the British animated series The Dreamstone, multiple characters on Mr. Bean: The Animated Series, and small parts (speaking or singing) in the Tim Burton stop-motion features The Corpse Bride and Frankenweenie, as well as Minions and an assortment of video games. On radio, he voiced Judge Dredd in two 1995 BBC serials, the Thing in The Amazing Spider-Man, and the Viking announcer in the Dirk Gently, Holistic Detective adaptation of The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul. Periodic on-camera credits include Shock Treatment (with Ruby Wax) and Whoops Apocalypse (with Loretta Swit).
